Aotearoa Labs is an independent studio in New Plymouth, Taranaki, run by Benny Cohen. We build custom software, mobile and desktop apps, small-business websites and AI-assisted CAD tools, and we sell our own apps too.

Why Aotearoa Labs
We make our own software as well as client work, so we know the whole path from an idea to a live product. Our apps are published on Google Play and the Microsoft Store, and our open-source CAD tools are on GitHub. Small businesses can see the same care in LA Hair Studio, a client website we built and look after.
Because it is a one-person studio, there are no account managers or hand-offs. We are local to Taranaki and happy to work with organisations anywhere in New Zealand.
How to get started
Email admin@aotearoalabs.co.nz with a few lines about the problem, who it is for and when you would like it done. We will reply with questions and a suggested first step. Where is Aotearoa Labs based?
In New Plymouth, Taranaki. We work remotely with clients across New Zealand, and Taranaki businesses can meet the person doing the work.
How much do your services cost?
Websites have published pricing: Starter is $249 a month and Professional is $449 a month, in New Zealand dollars, with nothing to pay upfront. Software, app and MCP projects depend on scope, so we quote after a short conversation.
Who will I be working with?
Aotearoa Labs is run by Benny Cohen. The person you talk to is the person who designs and builds the work.
Do you also sell your own software?
Yes. Our own apps include the AddVenture maths series, Aurora Game Booster and Gandalf Modbus Wizard, plus the open-source SolidPilot and Ultron MCP servers. We also designed and built AOTEAURORA for AOTEAURORA Limited. The software page lists them all.
